Job summary

BECU is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver enterprise-grade, cloud-native data solutions. You will build scalable data pipelines, apply governance, and collaborate with security and architecture teams.

Remote or onsite, candidates from WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA or VA are welcome. You will mentor peers and contribute to modern data platforms supporting analytics and AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL or Scala.
• Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with modern data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Experience with ETL/ELT, SQL, and cloud data integration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex cloud-native data solutions.
• Build scalable data pipelines for batch, near real-time, and API-based integrations.
• Drive technical innovation and governance across data platforms.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and governance teams to deliver secure data products.
