Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to build scalable backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native applications. You will work across Django/DRF, Nuxt/Vue, AWS serverless stacks, and data transformation using AWS Glue.

The role requires hands-on skills in Django/DRF, Nuxt 4, Vue 3, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, SQS/SNS, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Terraform. You’ll contribute to distributed Agile teams and emphasize security and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining backend services with Python, Django, and DRF.
• Experience building RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Knowledge of data validation with Pydantic and secure auth with django-rest-knox/OAuth.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda) and event-driven patterns (SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
• Experience with AWS Glue for ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in frontend integration with Nuxt 4 / Vue 3, TypeScript, Pinia, Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL 14+ design, indexing, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement data validation and API response modeling with Pydantic.
• Develop secure authentication/authorization with django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure integrations.
• Create frontend apps with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript; manage state with Pinia.
