Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to build scalable backend services with Python/Django DRF, and modern frontend using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript. The role spans data pipelines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, with extensive AWS services and data transformation workflows.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Django/DRF, Nuxt/Vue, AWS serverless, AWS Glue, Pandas/NumPy, and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement data validation and API response modeling using Pydantic.
• Develop authentication using django-rest-knox, OAuth, and MSAL/Azure AD integrations.
• Create frontend applications using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Manage frontend state using Pinia and styling with Tailwind CSS and Nuxt UI.
• Design and optimize data engineering pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery.
• Build ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy.
• Develop data transformation processes to improve data quality.
• Implement event-driven architectures with AWS SQS, SNS, Lambda, EventBridge.
• Build serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum.
• Manage caching with Redis/ElastiCache.
• Design relational databases with PostgreSQL 14+.
• Develop reusable adapter patterns for structured data entities.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure with AWS CDK (Python) and Terraform.
• Support containerization with Docker and Amazon ECR.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Ensure software quality with unit, regression, functional, and load testing.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Follow AWS security best practices (IAM, Secrets Manager, WAF).
