Job summary

Pearson is hiring a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to build scalable apps, data pipelines, and cloud-native services across backend, frontend, and data engineering domains. The role emphasizes Python-based backend development, Django DRF, Nuxt/Vue frontends, and AWS cloud services.

The ideal candidate will work with AWS Glue, Pandas/NumPy, and serverless architectures, contributing to enterprise platforms in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python-based backend development and Django DRF.
• Experience building RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Knowledge of authentication using django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure AD integrations.
• Experience with AWS serverless and infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Develop frontend apps using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Create and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue and Pandas/NumPy.
• Develop serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum.
• Manage cloud infra with AWS CDK and Terraform.
• Implement secure auth and data validation, caching with Redis/ElastiCache.
