Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer in the United States with strong Python-based backend development, modern frontend frameworks, data engineering, and AWS cloud services. You will build scalable applications, data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native services that support enterprise platforms and automation ecosystems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Django/DRF, Nuxt/Vue, AWS serverless and data transformation frameworks including AWS Glue, and can work across backend

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Python-based backend development.
• Hands-on Django/DRF and REST API design.
• Experience with AWS serverless and cloud services.
• Frontend work with Nuxt 4 / Vue 3 / TypeScript.
• Data transformation and ETL/ELT pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Build and document RESTful APIs with DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement data validation and API response modeling using Pydantic.
• Develop authentication and authorization with django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure AD integrations.
• Create frontend apps using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Manage frontend state using Pinia; use Tailwind CSS and Nuxt UI.
• Design and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data.
• Build ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy.
• Implement event-driven architectures using AWS SQS/SNS/Lambda/EventBridge.
• Operate serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum.
• Manage caching with Redis/ElastiCache.
• Design PostgreSQL databases with 14+; indexing and tuning.
• Provide modular adapter patterns for structured data.
