Job summary

McKinstry is expanding its Data Center Innovations division and is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our Spokane, WA team. In this role, you will manage high-complexity sales projects, maintain client relationships, and oversee larger contracts with a focus on strategic market initiatives.

You will oversee business development, team management, and client relations, coordinating with leadership to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent business experience required.
• Seven (7) years of experience with a mechanical or electrical construction contractor.
• Five (5) years of experience leading and closing sales.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals and estimates required.
• Knowledge of building infrastructure mechanical and electrical systems required.

Responsibilities

• Manages a percentage of the annual sales based on department needs.
• Produces accurate estimates, assembles quality proposals and demonstrates good written communication skills utilizing McKinstry guidelines and proposal formats.
• Builds and owns market strategies including SWOT analysis, competitive analysis and vertical/horizontal offering strategies.
• Coordinates with Business Unit Manager to ensure successful execution of projects.
• Assists with managerial functions, including hiring, coaching and separations.
• Supports development of Account Executives to ensure the successful achievement of business goals.
• Gives feedback and recommendations to the Director of Business Development to conduct performance evaluations.
• Builds and maintains relationships with industry leaders, associations and organizations in regional or vertical markets.
• Provides support to the customer with regards to projects financial, contractual and technical issues.
• Works with a large client base including owner and business leaders for the company.
• Takes ownership of accounts as assigned by Business Development Director.
