Job summary

The Weitz Company in Boling, TX is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a Mission Critical data center project. You will lead complex projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time delivery, staying within budget, and meeting high quality standards.

You will mentor project teams, manage client and stakeholder communications, assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver a successful project.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience as a Project Manager or similar role.
• Commercial and/or data center construction experience for a GC is required.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a team.
• Industry-related degree required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience in senior living, student housing, hospitality, condominium, and/or other lived-in product type construction is desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex construction projects from start to finish, on-time, on-budget, and to high quality standards.
• Provide leadership to project teams and manage performance per project goals and policy.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and monitor risk factors.
• Lead client and stakeholder communication and manage expectations.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and key stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; manage resources.
• Prepare and manage project schedule, address long lead items, and initiate changes to stay on track.
• Negotiate change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Prepare monthly status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments.
• Manage project budget and expenses; produce financial reports and forecasts.
• Implement QA/QC programs and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential scope reductions.
• Ensure safety plan is communicated to the team and subs.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts and buy-out process.
• Detect constructability issues with project design.
• Understand contracts, budgets, insurances, bonds and change orders; ensure adherence to scope.
• Foster positive relationships with internal and external parties.
• Develop and mentor team members, delegate tasks, and support promotions.
