Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a strategic leader to oversee data center operations as DCEO Cluster Manager in Ohio. You will direct multiple facilities, guide Area and Facility Managers, and ensure 24x7 uptime while aligning with AWS infrastructure standards.

You will collaborate with global teams, forecast staffing, and drive efficiency, safety, and reliability across the cluster. Strong leadership in mission critical environments is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience hiring, developing, and managing high‑performing technical teams.
• 5+ years of managing managers experience.
• 10+ years of mission critical facilities experience.
• In depth knowledge of Data Center Facilities such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub distribution systems, fire detection and suppression systems, cable reticulation systems

Responsibilities

• Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including facility managers, area managers, chief engineers, and facility technicians.
• Establish performance benchmarks, analyses, and reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.
• On-site management of 24x7 shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors; ensure adherence to practices and procedures.
• Build and maintain sustainable organizational structure.
• Forecast staffing with business development, real estate, engineering and construction teams.
• Mentor and develop employees.
• Lead hiring strategy and participate in recruiting events.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for data centers including preventive and corrective maintenance and change management.
• Manage all facility related repairs in a timely manner.
• Lead and participate in regular meetings and reporting for Data Center Engineering Operations.
• Coordinate with global teams on initiatives and implement locally.
• Vendor management of colocation data center service providers to meet SLAs.
• Ensure safety, security, and rapid incident response and root cause analysis.
• Manage OPEX and CAPEX for all data centers under your oversight.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
• Lead energy efficiency initiatives in your Cluster.
• Support capacity planning and ongoing construction activities.
