Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Texas seeks a strategic senior manager to oversee regional data center operations and infrastructure, directing a large team of facility managers, engineers, and technicians.

You will ensure 24/7 operational reliability and drive SOPs for cluster operations to support AWS’s mission of customer-centricity. You will manage cross-functional projects, monitor PUE and other KPIs, and interact with global teams as the technical resource for Data Center Engineering

Qualifications

5+ years of people management and team development experience.
5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience.
Experience operating a mission-critical team or product.
Experience maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple data centers within a region, ensuring 24/7 operational reliability
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cluster operations
Manage a team of data center facility managers, chief engineers, and technicians
Coordinate with cross-functional teams on maintenance, upgrades, and expansion projects
Monitor and optimize power usage effectiveness (PUE) and other key performance metrics
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cluster operations
Ensure compliance with security protocols and industry standards
