Job summary

Amazon seeks an experienced Data Center Engineering Operations Cluster Manager for its Data Center Community. This executive role oversees multiple data center facilities, leading Area and Facility Managers to ensure 24x7 uptime and operational excellence across locations.

You will partner with regional and global teams, drive energy efficiency, capacity planning, and vendor management while maintaining 100% service uptime in your cluster and delivering cost-effective improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience hiring, developing, and managing high‑performing technical teams.
• 10+ years of mission critical facilities experience.
• In depth knowledge of data center facilities such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub distribution systems, fire detection and suppression systems, cable reticulation systems.

Responsibilities

• Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including facility managers, area managers, chief engineers, and facility technicians.
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.
• On-site management of 24x7 shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub‑contractors and vendors, ensuring work follows established practices.
• Build and maintain sustainable organizational structure.
• Forecast staffing and coordinate with business development, real estate, engineering and construction teams.
• Mentor and develop employees and participate in recruiting events.
• Manage operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems including preventive and corrective maintenance and change management.
• Oversee facility repairs and reporting; run weekly availability meetings.
