Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Data Center Manager for a federal client in Arlington, VA. Lead end-to-end DC operations, security, DR, and virtualization across Windows, UNIX, and mainframe environments.

You will manage large-scale servers (>2,000 physical) and 15,000+ VMs, implement ITIL processes, and provide systems engineering leadership in a 24x7 environment. 401K, health plans, and career growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years managing server and support services, including at least 3 years in IT outsourcing
• ITIL v4 or v5 Foundation certification required by customer

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Data Center Operations
• Oversee security, disaster recovery, and batch scheduling across Windows, UNIX, and mainframe
• Direct operations of large-scale server environments (>2,000 physical servers) and 15,000+ VMs
• Plan and execute server consolidation and virtualization in Windows, Solaris, and Red Hat Linux
• Manage storage technologies and optimize performance
• Implement ITIL-aligned standards in a high-availability data center
• Lead 24x7x365 monitoring for national services
• Oversee IBM Z10 mainframe operations running z/OS
• Translate business requirements into technical strategies and plans
• Provide systems engineering leadership
