Job summary

Amazon seeks a senior leader to oversee data center operations, directing managers and 100–150 hourly staff across regional facilities. You will drive safety, availability, and efficiency while shaping strategic plans and staffing needs.

You will apply deep data center IT and AWS cloud knowledge to improve interoperability, and mentor teams across global sites, with occasional travel for training and deployment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in 7+ years managing operations, critical infrastructure, or manufacturing environments.
• 3+ years applying LEAN/6 Sigma methods (DMAIC, 5 Whys, RCA).
• 3+ years working with data center cabling, optics, and related test equipment.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations for training and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise data center managers and hourly staff across regional facilities.
• Drive safety, security, availability, scalability, and efficiency goals.
• Plan, forecast, and evaluate performance; mentor and develop the team.
• Develop best practices and oversee infrastructure buildouts and room layouts.
• Balance insourcing/outsourcing tasks to optimize internal skills and costs.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and tools.
