Job summary

ENERCON's Data Center Mission Critical group seeks a Principal Engineering Project Manager to lead complex data center projects, coordinate with technical teams, and manage schedules, budgets, risks, and quality. This role requires strong leadership and a proven ability to deliver within multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PMP certification with 10 years experience in engineering consulting, project management or data center.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a project manager or engineer with an engineering consulting firm doing data center projects.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Ideal candidate has worked with a hyperscale data center directly or indirectly as a consultant.
• Skilled in cost / workhour estimating and proposal development and review.
• Capable of reporting on and managing scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects executing simultaneously.
• Knowledge in earned value management and progress reporting.
• Experience in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review.
• Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes.
• Strong coordination and team building skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills.
• Ability to read and write technically and coherently.
• Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams.
• Reading MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects and manage schedules, risks, and financial health.
• Develop detailed engineering proposals with technical teams.
• Oversee engineers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure quality deliverables.
• Maintain strong client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
• Travel to client facilities as needed and ensure contract compliance.
• Plan, implement, and supervise client contracts and ensure successful project execution.
