Job summary

ENERCON's Data Center Mission Critical group seeks a Principal Engineering Project Manager to lead engineering projects, develop detailed proposals, and oversee execution including schedules, risks, and finances across multiple client sites.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or PMP, at least 6 years in data center project management, strong communication, and travel up to 15% within the US; remote work options may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR PMP Certification; 10+ years in engineering consulting, project manager or data center
• Minimum 6 years as a project manager or engineer with an engineering consulting firm doing data center projects
• PMP certification preferred
• Experience with hyperscale data centers directly or indirectly as a consultant
• Skilled in cost / workhour estimating and proposal development and review
• Able to report on and manage scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects
• Knowledge in earned value management and progress reporting
• Experience with contract and NDA language development and review
• Ability to work with budgets and accounting processes
• Strong coordination and team-building skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to travel 10%-15% of the time

Responsibilities

• Lead projects with technical colleagues to develop detailed engineering proposals
• Manage schedules and execute recovery plans when needed
• Develop work plans, risk management strategies, and communication plans
• Oversee project schedules and financial health with reporting
• Manage engineers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure quality deliverables
• Maintain client relationships and support business development
• Plan, implement, and supervise client contracts; travel to client facilities
