Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an Infrastructure Architect to design and deliver complex data center solutions across on‑premises and cloud environments. The role requires coordinating with IT partners, business stakeholders, and vendors to maintain uptime, performance, and security in a dynamic, hybrid work setting.

You will lead capacity planning, define standards, and guide both software and hardware decisions to align with enterprise roadmaps and cost considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required.
• 5+ years of related field experience; in lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs supporting network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database solutions.
• Own technology currency, lifecycle management, and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define and maintain hardware/software performance standards for scalability and resilience.
• Provide deep technical guidance on emerging technologies and vendor partnerships.
• Lead licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives for datacenter technologies.
• Collaborate with IT partners, business stakeholders, and vendors on design decisions.
• Execute detailed infrastructure designs for large-scale initiatives with stakeholders.
• Ensure readiness through planning, coordination, and upgrades; troubleshoot incidents.
