Job summary

Amazon Web Services seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to drive fire protection across our global data-center fleet. You will design and oversee fire suppression, detection, alarm, and life-safety systems to keep facilities safe and operations uninterrupted.

You will collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure code compliance and high-quality design. Travel up to 25% may be required, with impact across global projects.

Qualifications

6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
Experience in mission critical facilities, including data centers and power facilities.
Experience applying NFPA standards and ICC requirements to fire protection design.

Responsibilities

Design and oversee fire protection for data centers, including suppression, detection, and life safety.
Review construction documents, ensure code compliance, and provide design guidance.
Coordinate with utilities, AHJs, and vendors to meet design standards and schedules.
Prepare prescriptive designs for fire protection systems and support performance-based elements.
Lead reviews to ensure fire protection features meet stricter standards across projects.
