Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center Design to lead fire protection design, construction, and maintenance for our global network of data centers.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and operations teams to deliver safe, efficient facilities while ensuring compliance with industry codes and AWS design standards.

Role requires travel up to 25% and a track record in fire protection within critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience designing fire protection systems for data centers.
• Knowledge of prescriptive and performance-based design approaches.
• Ability to coordinate with design teams, contractors, and AHJs.
• Understanding of life safety and fire suppression requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design and construction for AWS data centers.
• Prepare construction docs for fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.
• Coordinate with utilities, fire officials, and internal teams to ensure code compliance.
• Review designs to meet AWS design standards and oversee implementation.
