Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design, construction, and maintenance of fire protection systems for our global data centers. You will coordinate with internal teams, AHJs, and external vendors to ensure safety, uptime, and compliance across diverse facilities.

The role requires 6+ years in data center design/ops, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and a Licensed Fire Protection Engineer.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Licensed Fire Protection Engineer with NFPA/ICC knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee project-related work for fire protection in data centers.
• Coordinate space requirements, utilities, and equipment locations for fire protection trades.
• Prepare prescriptive or performance-based designs for fire suppression, alarm, and detection systems.
• Review design disciplines to meet minimum fire protection requirements.
• Oversee and review work; ensure information is provided to contractors and operations teams.
