Job summary

HDR leads innovative data center electrical design in the Buildings Engineering Services group in Denver, CO. The Data Center Electrical Engineer collaborates with clients, PMs, architects, and multidisciplinary teams from concept to construction.

We seek a candidate with 5+ years in high-reliability electrical systems who can mentor others and thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Strong NEC knowledge and software skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with PE license.
• 5+ years of consulting engineering experience in high reliability electrical systems.
• Experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, CYMCAP, and Easy Power.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Preference for local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for data center/mission-critical projects.
• Coordinate with clients, PMs, engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Develop feasibility reports, construction documents, specs, calculations.
• Review RFIs, shop drawings, and provide design coordination.
• Mentor junior staff and manage team growth throughout projects.
• Support design meetings and ensure code compliance.
