QTS Data Centers in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Senior Development Project Engineer (Data Center Construction MEPR) to drive design, preconstruction and construction activities on multiple campuses. You’ll collaborate with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers and Operations to deliver on-time, on-budget data center projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in commercial construction, including Lump Sum, CM @ Risk, and Design Build delivery methods.
• MS Office proficiency, especially PowerPoint for executive updates, and Excel for budgets.
• US Citizenship is required by law due to federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Support Development leadership and Project Manager with day-to-day activities.
• Track budgets, schedules, and status reports for multiple campuses.
• Prepare monthly development program updates for executive reviews.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop campus design solutions and budgets.
• Assist with entitlement and permitting needs for sites.
• Assist with scopes of work for design, construction, commissioning services & procurement estimates.
• Evaluate pricing proposals for design, construction, and commissioning services.
• Coordinate equipment procurement and delivery with the procurement team.
• Coordinate submittals with site stakeholders.
• Monitor project budgets and cost-to-date; manage schedules to on-time completion.
• Review change orders with contractors and negotiate pricing.
• Establish site construction security procedures with security team.
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and represent QTS in meetings.
• Support due diligence for land bank opportunities and new data center prospects.
• Assist in establishing and monitoring entitlement and permit processes for projects.
• Improve project management processes with the internal development team.
