Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a General Superintendent - Data Center in Charlotte, NC to independently manage all field operations on high-dollar data center projects. This on-site role requires leadership, strong schedule governance, safety focus, and collaboration with project teams and business development.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years’ experience on large commercial/industrial projects, hyperscale data center exposure, and industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10-15 years of experience on $30-$100M+ commercial/industrial projects in a lead superintendent role.
• Hyperscale Data Center experience is required.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and site services.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan for field changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Leads safety and enforces the project safety plan across trades.
• Plans and manages jobsite logistics and schedules.
• Creates and updates the project schedule with contingency plans.
• Trains direct reports and supervises project team.
• Collaborates with business development to align with sales strategies.
