Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent for Data Center projects in a hands-on, on-site role in Charlotte. You will manage field operations daily, coordinate trade contractors, and drive safety and schedule adherence on hyperscale data center builds.

The ideal candidate has 7–12 years of superintendent experience on large projects (>$50M), a Bachelor’s in Engineering/Construction Management, and relevant certifications (OSHA 30, STS-C).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7–12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project of $50M+ value on commercial/industrial construction as a superintendent.
• Hyperscale data center experience required.
• OSHA 30-hour certification and STS-C certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed training.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors to meet the approved project schedule.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the field work plan and changes.
• Maintains contract document understanding to anticipate problems.
• Ensures safety compliance and enforces safety plans.
• Leads contractor meetings and manages daily reports and documentation.
