Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex mission critical and data center construction projects. This position is accountable for project execution from preconstruction and mobilization through construction, commissioning support, turnover, and closeout while maintaining client's expectations for safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, communication, and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 15 years of construction experience in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years in commercial, industrial, mission critical, or technically complex construction with PM responsibility.
• 8+ years in PM or Senior PM roles overseeing large/complex projects.
• Experience developing and evaluating project management personnel.
• Direct experience managing data center, mission critical electrical infrastructure, or similar projects.
• Proven ability to lead large, schedule-driven project teams.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, financial management, forecasting, procurement, CPM scheduling, change management, and closeout.
• Leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and client-management skills.
• Proficiency with construction-management tools, scheduling, financial reporting, and MS Office.
• Ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for assigned data center projects from preconstruction through turnover and closeout.
• Set project management strategy and expectations for execution, reporting, and decision-making.
• Maintain command of contract requirements, scope, owner expectations, schedule, and risks.
• Lead alignment between PM, Field Ops, Safety, Quality, and Mission Critical leadership.
• Serve as senior contact for owners, developers, design professionals, trade partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Lead major project meetings, executive updates, and risk reviews.
• Anticipate risks and direct mitigation or recovery plans.
• Escalate significant issues with clear recommendations and ownership.
• Manage CPM schedules, look-ahead planning, procurement milestones, and commissioning activities.
• Control costs, change orders, and forecast accuracy; protect client and company interests.
