Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale data center construction projects across the United States. You will oversee pre-construction through commissioning, mentor project teams, and serve as the primary client interface for mission-critical facilities.

You will drive safety, quality, schedule, and budget while coordinating with design teams, owners, and subcontractors, with national travel as required. 7+ years of data center delivery experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction experience, including substantial experience delivering data center or mission-critical projects.
• Experience delivering data center projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
• Strong technical understanding of mission-critical infrastructure systems and operating environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of large-scale data center construction projects with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction
• Serve as the primary project leader and senior point of contact for owners, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
• Direct project teams through all phases from pre-construction planning and procurement through commissioning and turnover
• Develop and execute project strategies to achieve milestones and mitigate risks
• Manage and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers
• Oversee budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, contract administration, and change orders
• Lead procurement for major equipment packages including generators, switchgear, UPS, cooling systems
• Drive schedule performance with detailed planning and critical path analysis
• Coordinate with design teams, commissioning agents, trade partners, and client representatives
• Chair owner meetings, progress reviews, and project governance sessions
• Ensure compliance with safety programs, quality standards, and client requirements
• Support business development and pre-construction efforts with client presentations and budgeting exercises
• Foster strong client relationships with transparent communication

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to join a leading data center construction team delivering large-scale, mission-critical facilities across the United States.

In this role, you will lead the execution of complex data center construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and client handover. You will be responsible for overall project performance, providing leadership to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field teams while serving as the primary client interface throughout the project lifecycle.

This position is ideal for a proven data center construction professional who has successfully delivered mission-critical projects and is ready to take ownership of larger, more technically demanding programs with significant commercial and operational responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of large-scale data center construction projects, maintaining full accountability for safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction
• Serve as the primary project leader and senior point of contact for owners, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
• Direct project teams through all phases of delivery, from pre-construction planning and procurement through commissioning and final turnover
• Develop and execute project strategies to achieve key milestones while proactively identifying and mitigating project risks
• Manage and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and support staff assigned to the project
• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, contingency planning, cost reporting, contract administration, and change order management
• Lead procurement activities for major equipment packages including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, cooling equipment, and mission-critical infrastructure
• Drive schedule performance through detailed planning, critical path analysis, resource management, and recovery planning when required
• Coordinate with design teams, commissioning agents, trade partners, and client representatives to ensure successful project execution
• Chair owner meetings, progress reviews, executive reporting sessions, and project governance meetings
• Ensure compliance with company safety programs, quality standards, commissioning protocols, and client requirements
• Support business development and pre-construction efforts by participating in client presentations, constructability reviews, budgeting exercises, and project pursuits
• Foster strong client relationships while maintaining a high level of trust, communication, and project transparency

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• 7+ years of construction experience, including substantial experience delivering data center or mission-critical projects
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale data center projects from pre-construction through commissioning and client handover
• Strong technical understanding of mission-critical infrastructure systems.
• Experience working within operational or live mission-critical environments
• Strong understanding of Tier I-IV data center standards, commissioning processes, redundancy concepts, and industry best practices
• Proven experience managing projects under Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, and GMP delivery models
• Advanced commercial management skills including forecasting, cost control, change management, contract administration, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to travel nationally to active project sites as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or cloud data center projects valued at $100M+ in construction value
• PMP, CCM, DBIA, or equivalent professional certification
• OSHA 30 certification
• Experience leading multiple phases or concurrent mission-critical projects
