Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an experienced Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to design and mature complex, multi-domain data center and cloud infrastructures, spanning network, compute, storage, platform, and middleware. You will partner with IT and business stakeholders, own lifecycle management, capacity planning, and performance standards to ensure scalability, resilience, and SLA compliance.

The role supports a Hybrid Flex work model with in-office collaboration and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) is required.
• 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs across network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and databases.
• Own technology lifecycle, capacity planning, and SLA alignment to ensure infrastructure capabilities meet SLAs.
• Define hardware/software performance standards for scalability and resilience.
• Lead licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives for datacenter technologies.
• Collaborate with IT partners and vendors to resolve design problems.
• Provide incident support and drive rapid resolution for production issues.
