Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a senior technical contributor to own the architecture and strategy for the highest-used supply chain data models in Databricks and a self-serve analytics platform built on top of them.

You will partner with the Enterprise Technology data platform and mentor engineers while shaping data governance, semantic layers, and delivery of scalable analytics across procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines and data models.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Deep experience with Databricks (or comparable lakehouse platform) architecting large-scale, business-facing data models.
• Proven experience partnering with or consuming data from a centralized enterprise data platform team, including managing data contracts and adapting to upstream changes.
• Strong experience architecting solutions on AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, ECS/EKS, RDS, API Gateway).
• Proven experience with Git-based CI/CD workflows (GitLab preferred) and modern software engineering practices.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), due to access to export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own the primary supply chain data models in Databricks — the most heavily used data assets across the organization.
• Own the self-serve analytics strategy, including semantic layers, curated data marts, access patterns, and documentation.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with the data platform team, defining data contracts and adapting models as the platform evolves.
• Define and enforce data modeling standards, business logic ownership, and data quality frameworks.
• Guide the architecture of AWS-hosted internal web applications and self-serve analytics tools.
