Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a data modeling engineer to design and maintain foundational supply chain data models in Databricks, downstream from ERP and procurement sources. You will apply business logic and data quality rules to deliver trusted data assets used across dashboards and applications.

You will contribute to AWS-hosted web applications and self-serve analytics, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data contracts and standards, using GitLab CI/CD and VS Code in a

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines and data models.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms for dimensional/data modeling and transformation.
• Experience integrating with upstream source systems and managing schema/data contracts.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, Glue, RDS, ECS).
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred).
• Strong understanding of data warehousing/modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, medallion architecture, etc.).
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) for export-controlled data access.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core supply chain data models in Databricks.
• Apply supply chain business logic and data quality rules to models.
• Build semantic layers and data products for self-serve metrics and insights.
• Contribute to AWS-hosted internal web applications surfaced as dashboards and KPIs.
• Collaborate with ET data platform teams and stakeholders to define data contracts and standards.
• Develop using GitLab for version control and CI/CD; use VS Code as primary IDE.
• Monitor pipeline and model health for high availability and discoverability.
