Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Technical Contributor for the Supply Chain BI & Data Science team in Huntsville to own the architecture of core data models and the self-serve analytics platform built on Databricks and AWS. You will drive strategy with ET, set governance standards, and mentor engineers across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines and data models, including experience leading data modeling architecture decisions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL
• Deep experience with Databricks (or comparable lakehouse platform) architecting large-scale, business-facing data models
• Proven experience partnering with or consuming data from a centralized enterprise data platform team, including managing data contracts and adapting to upstream changes
• Strong experience architecting solutions on AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, ECS/EKS, RDS, API Gateway)
• Proven experience with Git-based CI/CD workflows (GitLab preferred) and modern software engineering practices
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional technical initiatives
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), due to access to export-controlled data

Responsibilities

• Core Data Model Ownership: Architect and own the primary supply chain data models in Databricks.
• Self-Serve Analytics Strategy: Define strategy for semantic layers and data marts for trusted metrics across the org.
• ET Partnership & Data Strategy: Liaise with ET's data platform team, define contracts, adapt models as platform evolves.
• Modeling Standards & Governance: Enforce data modeling standards, business logic ownership, and data quality frameworks.
• Web Application & Delivery Strategy: Guide architecture of AWS-hosted internal web apps and self-serve analytics tools.
• Technical Leadership: Set engineering standards for GitLab CI/CD, VS Code-based development, testing, and deployment; mentor engineers.
• AI-Enabled Engineering: Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development and analytics tools to scale self-serve capabilities.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as primary technical contact between supply chain leadership and engineering.
• End-to-End Coverage: Ensure comprehensive model and self-serve metric coverage across procurement, inventory, logistics, supplier performance, and manufacturing supply
