Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA seeks a Senior Technical Contributor for the Supply Chain BI & Data Science team to own architecture and strategy for core data models in Databricks and for the self-serve analytics platform across procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier performance. This role blends data modeling expertise with architectural ownership and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and operating production data pipelines and data models.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• Expert-level Python and SQL proficiency.
• Deep Databricks experience architecting large-scale data models.
• Experience with an enterprise data platform and data contracts.
• Strong AWS architecture experience (S3, Lambda, Glue, ECS/EKS, RDS, API Gateway).
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual for export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Core data model ownership for primary supply chain data assets.
• Own self-serve analytics strategy, semantic layers, and data marts.
• Partner with data platform team to evolve data contracts.
• Define data modeling standards and data quality frameworks.
• Guide architecture of AWS-hosted internal apps and analytics tools.
• Set engineering standards for CI/CD, testing, and deployment; mentor staff.
• Explore AI-assisted tooling to scale self-serve capabilities.
• Collaborate with supply chain leadership to meet business needs.
