Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Data Modeling Engineer to design and maintain core supply chain data models in Databricks, downstream of ERP and inventory systems. You will apply business logic, ensure data quality, and build data products for self-serve insights.

You will contribute to AWS-hosted apps and collaborate to establish data contracts and standards. The role emphasizes modern engineering practices, observability, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted data assets

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and operating production data pipelines and models.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, Glue, RDS).
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual per export control.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core supply chain data models in Databricks.
• Apply supply chain business logic and data quality rules.
• Build self-serve data products and semantic layers for analysts.
• Support AWS-hosted internal web applications surface data models.
• Collaborate to define data contracts and data modeling standards.
• Develop using GitLab, VS Code, and AI-assisted tooling.
• Monitor pipeline and model health for high availability and discoverability.
