GovCIO is seeking a Data Engineer and Architect to support VA healthcare data integration into the Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW). You will analyze source systems (VistA, Millennium, ADR, MVI, Geospatial) and design robust data models, ETL components, and metadata artifacts to enable scalable ingestion and governance.

The role requires advanced SQL (T-SQL), SSIS/SSAS, Power BI, and experience with healthcare data; you’ll collaborate with DBAs, SMEs, and data stewards to ensure data quality,

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 14+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience; or equivalent professional experience.
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare data domains with Millennium experience.
• Ability to identify and handle PHI/PII across Millennium, VistA, ADR, MVI, GeoSpatial, PIT, Exam Management, and related systems.
• Strong SQL Server skills (T-SQL), indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Experience with SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI for data integration and visualization.
• Strong data modeling, data lineage, and EDW/CDW design expertise.
• Familiarity with CDW standards, data governance, and security requirements.

Mansioni

• Analyze source systems to define data structures, relationships, and PHI/PII classification.
• Design and maintain database objects supporting CDW data ingestion.
• Build conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data integration.
• Document transformations and integration requirements for CDW consistency.
• Collaborate with DBAs, SMEs, ETL developers, and source extraction teams across the data domain lifecycle.
• Create and deploy data models and metadata using the MDR Editor; contribute to tool enhancements.
• Develop and maintain Data Domain Design Documents and governance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with CDW standards, governance policies, and security guidelines.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues and respond to Helpdesk requests.
