GovCIO is recruiting a Data Engineer and Architect to support the VA’s Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW). The role analyzes source databases, builds database objects, and designs scalable data models for secure ingestion of healthcare data from systems like VistA and Millennium.

This position is fully remote in the United States. You will collaborate with data stewards, DBAs, ETL teams, and source extraction groups to ensure data quality, governance, and compliant architecture across the enterprise

Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare data and clinical business operations.
• Strong SQL skills and data integration experience in healthcare.
• Ability to handle PHI/PII across multiple source systems.

Responsabilités

• Analyze source systems to define data structures, business rules and PHI/PII classification.
• Design and maintain database objects supporting CDW data ingestion.
• Build data models enabling scalable enterprise data integration.
• Map source-to-target transformations and maintain data lineage.
• Collaborate with SMEs, DBAs, ETL developers and source teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain DDds, ERDs, and documentation for governance.
• Ensure CDW standards, governance policies, and security requirements.
• Investigate data quality issues and provide root-cause analysis with teams.
