Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers on data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and build end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This role emphasizes customer empathy, measurable outcomes, and production-grade delivery. You will travel up to 20% and work across engineering, product, and developer relations, shaping strategic initiatives and delivering

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures combining data pipelines, ML/AI models, and UI interfaces.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scoped timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel ~20%
• Databricks Certification

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer technical projects by delivering reference architectures, custom applications, and data ingestion pipelines.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end-to-end design to deployment.
• Coach customers on architecture and design to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagement components.
• Provide feedback to product teams based on deployments and customer needs.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts.
