Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, delivering production-grade data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and app layers with strong customer empathy. You will guide strategic customers, translate complex concepts into actionable solutions, manage scope and timelines, and travel up to 20% to meet clients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) and at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Ability to design and deploy performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications combining data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user interfaces.
• Experience delivering technical projects, managing scope, timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills; able to communicate with enterprise clients.
• Willingness to travel about 20% and hold a Databricks Certification.

• Production Solution Delivery: lead customer projects delivering production-grade systems and reference architectures.
• Transformational Impact: guide customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Empower Customers: advise on architecture and bootstrap or implement customer projects for successful adoption.
• Own the Architecture: drive design decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with Databricks team to ensure delivery meets customer requirements and provide feedback for product improvements.
• Engage with stakeholders from technical ICs to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators and best practices that scale across accounts and influence the product roadmap.
