Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end‑to‑end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

You will collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams, delivering production‑grade solutions with customer empathy, and ensuring measurable business outcomes while traveling up to 20% of the time.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript; comfortable with modern frameworks.
• Cloud knowledge across two or more ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of scalable data architectures and applications combining data pipelines, ML/AI, and UIs.
• Technical project delivery experience; strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management; travel 20%.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production‑grade data projects, delivering architecture, data ingestion, and apps.
• Design and build reference architectures for customer solutions.
• Integrate ML/AI models into end‑to‑end data applications.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver impact.
• Provide architectural guidance and feedback to customers and teams.
