Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer to own architecture and lead the design and implementation of production-grade data and AI solutions on the Databricks Platform. You will work closely with customers to deliver end-to-end systems, spanning data engineering, ML/AI models, and customer-facing applications.

The role requires strong engineering skills, adaptability, and a passion for customer outcomes, with travel to customer sites about 20% of the time.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of scalable production end-to-end data architectures and apps.
• Experience with technical project delivery and stakeholder management.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade delivery of data/AI solutions and reference architectures.
• Drive end-to-end design and implementation across data pipelines, ML models, and apps.
• Collaborate with Eng, Product, and Customer teams to meet customer needs.
• Guide architecture decisions to ensure security and scalability.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Provide feedback to product and support to accelerate issue resolution.
