Job summary

Databricks seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate with customers, building and productionizing data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for builders who ship with empathy and impact. You will deliver production-grade architectures, guide transformational big data projects, and work with

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of performant production end-to-end data architectures and apps.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines and outcomes.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: Lead production-grade projects with reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Transformational Impact: Guide customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI apps.
• Empower Customers: Advise on architecture and assist customer projects to adoption of Databricks.
• Own the Architecture: Drive secure, scalable design aligned with customer needs and best practices.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to ensure delivery meets requirements.
• Provide feedback to product teams and guide issue resolution.
• Customer Immersion: Embed with customer teams across technical ICs to executives.
• Create reusable accelerators, frameworks, and scale best practices.
