Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to deliver production-ready data and AI solutions for customers. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development, while collaborating with engineering, product, and client teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, customer empathy, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable, scalable solutions with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and APIs.
• Design and deployment of production data architectures and apps.
• Experience delivering technical projects with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.
