Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers, owning architecture, leading design decisions, and implementing end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks Platform. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for builders who blend technology with business impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript using modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Strong project delivery skills and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel 20% to customers.
• Databricks Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects by delivering reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of data and AI apps.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet requirements.
• Provide feedback to product and support teams to resolve issues.
• Develop reusable accelerators and best practices that scale across accounts.
