Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, architect end-to-end data/AI solutions on the Databricks Platform. You will own design decisions, deliver production-grade systems, and train client teams across data engineering, ML, and app development.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate, you will travel up to 20% and collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to drive measurable outcomes and accelerate value realization for

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of CI/CD for production deployments.
• Experience with MLOps and ML/AI models.
• Design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures with pipelines and ML models.
• Strong communication and collaboration with enterprise clients.
• Willingness to travel 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects by delivering reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI apps.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects with empathy and measure outcomes.
• Lead architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide product feedback to guide rapid resolution.
• Immerse with customer teams from ICs to executives to understand challenges.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices.
