Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Cybersecurity Engineering team. You will design, implement, and support SSE, Zero Trust, and Zscaler across a large, complex environment.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, architecture-to-implementation leadership, and the ability to drive security initiatives across networking, cloud, identity, and endpoint domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, Microsoft Security/Azure, CISSP, or Security+ are preferred.
• Extensive hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience supporting SSE/SASE, Zero Trust, network security, cloud security, or related enterprise security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, optimize, and support enterprise security technologies across a large environment.
• Lead architecture-guided security deployments from design through production handoff.
• Communicate complex risks and mitigation recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
