Job summary

Sentara Health seeks an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise security technologies across a large environment. Focus on SSE, Zero Trust, and Zscaler; leadership across security, network, cloud, identity, and endpoints.

You will own complex issues, mentor engineers, and drive implementations from architecture through production handoff, aligning with business goals and security posture.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience with SSE/SASE, Zero Trust, and related enterprise security technologies.
• Strong experience with Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, ZCC, ZDX and traffic inspection.
• Solid networking troubleshooting across TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN, and PKI.

Responsibilities

• Own complex security issues with methodical root-cause analysis.
• Translate architecture into scalable security solutions with risk awareness.
• Lead cross-functional security discussions across teams.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and vendors.
• Mentor engineers and improve automation and reliability.
