Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise security technologies across a large environment. You will focus on SSE, Zero Trust, and Zscaler while collaborating with network, cloud, identity, and endpoint security teams.

The role requires hands-on engineering, deep troubleshooting, and leadership from architecture through production handoff, with emphasis on collaboration and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with SSE/SASE, Zero Trust, and enterprise security technologies.
• Strong experience with Zscaler technologies (ZIA, ZPA, ZCC, ZDX) and traffic inspection.
• Strong networking and troubleshooting across TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN, PKI/certificates, proxies, and application connectivity.
• Experience leading security implementations from architecture to handoff.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex security implementations and production troubleshooting across multiple domains.
• Collaborate across cybersecurity, network, cloud, identity, endpoint, and infrastructure teams.
• Mentor engineers and promote automation, reliability, processes, and operational support.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders and vendors.
