Sentara Health is seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise security technologies across a large environment. The role emphasizes SSE, Zero Trust, and Zscaler, with collaboration across network, cloud, identity, and endpoint security initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on troubleshooting, strong networking fundamentals, and technical leadership, driving initiatives from architecture to production handoff.

Qualifications

Hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience with SSE/SASE and Zero Trust.
Strong networking and troubleshooting across TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN.
Experience leading security implementations from architecture to handoff.

Responsibilities

Own complex technical issues with evidence-based root-cause analysis.
Translate architecture direction into scalable security solutions.
Lead cross-functional security discussions across multiple teams.
Communicate risks and recommendations to stakeholders and vendors.
Mentor engineers and drive automation and reliability improvements.
