Job summary

Tailscale is hiring a Senior Customer Reliability Engineer to own high-stakes customer escalations end-to-end. You will collaborate with Customer Success, Support, and Product teams to reproduce issues, gather logs, and prepare engineering handoffs with clear, evidence-backed reports.

The role requires deep networking and VPN knowledge, Go/Python coding skills, and experience debugging Kubernetes environments. This is a remote-first position with strong compensation and equity options.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a technical support or escalation role at a SaaS or infrastructure company.
• Proven ability to own escalated/enterprise-grade issues end-to-end.
• Strong networking know-how including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancers.

Responsibilities

• Own high-severity, post-sales escalations from intake through resolution or handoff to engineering.
• On-call calls with customers, collect logs, communicate findings and theories.
• Create reproducible cases with logs, timestamps, version matrices and impact scope.
• File and track bugs with full context for engineering action.
• Identify patterns across escalations to drive product improvements.
