Job summary

Tailscale is seeking a talented and motivated full-time Software Engineering Manager to join our growing, fully remote engineering team. You will mentor engineers, guide 2-3 pods, and provide technical direction while collaborating with product, data science, and design to ship high‑quality software.

You will hire, grow, and nurture engineers, foster an inclusive culture, and manage production services with on‑call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and mentoring engineers.
• Experience running production services with high availability.
• Expertise in on-call rotations and incident response.
• Proficient in Go and evaluating complex tech tradeoffs.
• Ability to work asynchronously in a distributed startup.

Responsibilities
