Job summary

Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking a Sr. Customer Care Specialist to provide day-to-day customer care and account coordination for designated customers, from order receipt to shipment.

This role requires a seasoned professional who can independently handle complex issues and maintain strong customer relationships in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The position supports account management and growth within existing relationships, collaborating with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Quality to

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive experience in customer service, order management, or related role.
• Experience using ERP/CRM systems for order management and reporting.
• Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills under pressure.
• Ability to identify growth opportunities and engage Sales at the appropriate time.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer purchase orders from receipt through shipment with accuracy.
• Validate pricing, part numbers, revisions, lead times, and specifications before order release.
• Maintain orders and case activity in ERP/CRM with accuracy and timeliness.
• Own order changes, expedites, delivery updates, and coordination with internal teams.
• Monitor order status, backlog, and risks; take proactive action to prevent service failures.
• Respond to inquiries about delivery timing, pricing, quality, and billing.
• Coordinate issue resolution across Operations, Scheduling, Quality, Engineering, Shipping, Finance, Estimating, and others.
• Escalate significant risks and customer concerns with facts and urgency.
• Serve as relationship owner for assigned customers and drive retention and growth.
• Develop understanding of customers, programs, forecasts, service expectations, and priorities.
• Prepare for and participate in customer reviews and internal health discussions.
• Coordinate onboarding for new programs within existing relationships.
• Identify opportunities for new parts, programs, or volume and engage Sales.
