Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer for field engineering in Benton, LA. You will support AWS Data Centers from concept through site upgrades, providing technical guidance and field leadership.

You will troubleshoot complex equipment, conduct RCA, and document corrective actions while interfacing with operations, design, and safety teams. A strong engineering judgment and project management mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or above.
• 3+ cumulative years of experience in industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering (data centers, power, oil/gas).
• Must have a valid US driverLicense and reliable transportation starting date.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, perform RCA, and create CA documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Provide ad‑hoc training and review operating procedures for critical equipment and events.
• Own conceptual design for data center upgrades to add capacity, improve availability, and efficiency.
• Interface with data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, EH&S teams to maintain reliability.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers and promote standards across teams.
• Work on multiple projects across regions and lead audits with risk/mitigation reports.
• Serve as resident engineer during new construction projects; support commissioning and turnover.
