Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering, to support AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvements and maintenance. You will act as the go‑to resource regionally, troubleshoot equipment, and develop upgrade designs to boost capacity and efficiency.

You will collaborate across operations, design, and safety teams, leading audits, training, and field deployments while balancing field and office work in a dynamic, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong engineering judgement and data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Ability to lead projects and manage consultants.
• Experience with data analytics and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design to turnover.
• Troubleshoot, perform RCA, and create corrective action documentation.
• Own conceptual design for upgrades to increase capacity and efficiency.
• Interface with operations, design engineering, and safety teams to maintain reliability.
• Lead field engineering audits and on-site engineering reviews.
