Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering, to provide full life-cycle support for AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will act as a regional engineering resource, troubleshoot equipment, perform RCAs, and lead audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ cumulative years of engineering experience in industrial, municipal, or commercial sectors including data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal transportation by start date.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, perform RCA, and create CA docs for site/equipment failures.
• Support operational issues with on-site training and SOP reviews, including critical equipment.
• Own conceptual design for data center upgrades to add capacity, improve availability, and efficiency.
• Interface with data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, EHS teams to promote standards.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers and lead audits and site visits.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.
